I got the live view feature to work on my d7000 which was cool, but it would not actually trigger the camera. It does not work with the d800 which is what I wanted to use it for.

Nowhere in the manual was there a mention of batteries, Alkaline were supplied.Дў Meh I almost loved this. 'ReBooting' is sometimes necessary as it can loose sync.8) Since I have some enamel paint I placed color coded dots next to the keys (Green = power on, Red = power off) frequently used (Blue = DSLR Live View select)9) I did discover that good quality rechargable Lithium batteries will work. I finally used Velcro to hold the battery door closed and included a 'finger loop' for my right index finger.7) Once you get over the quirks, the device does work. Mine dropped twice, the battery door popped open and the batteries fell out. Unfortunately the location of the button forces a right hand into a position where the Transmitter is likely to drop during the course of extended use. BUT it then is in the mode of using the low res camera (Inspire View) in the Receiver, so another unlabeled buttom must be pushed to select the Live View from the camera.5) From the manual, buttons 13 & 15 are called Right Arrow and Left Arrow, but in normal picture taking mode, they are brightness controls.6) The handheld Transmitter does have one prominant button which is larger and of a different color which is the Autofocus/Shutter Release used for every picture. In addition two of the springs holding the batteries in were so weak I had to 'tweak' them to be longer and have a retention force similar to the other two locations.2a) The battery door on the Receiver is a better design and works well.3) All of the many buttons on the Transmitter are unlabeled and illogically placed.4) It appears that you must first turn on the camera, select 'Live View', then the receiver, then the transmitter and maybe the (unlabeled) Synchronise Button(s). If you're thinking that because Hahnel is European and that this product will be of great quality, you would be wrong.1) The knob on the Receiver intended to attach it to the Hot Shoe on the top of my Nikon D300 requires a tool to tighten, it can't be done sufficently with fingers.2) The battery door on the hand held transmitter will fall open if you so much as look at it.
